Leroy Neiman (born Leroy Leslie Runquist, June 8, 1921 – June 20, 2012) - "Cafe Rive Gauche" (1991) is an abstract depiction of a Paris Sidewalk Cafe. Neiman is best known for his brilliantly colored, expressionist paintings and screen prints depicting images of leisure activities, energetic sporting events, musicians, animals, etc. This print measures 21" x 25" and bears signatures of the American artist in the lower right margin as well as within the plate. Neiman was born in St. Paul, Minnesota and studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, De Paul University, and the University of Illinois.
