Print Home ViewIgael Tumarkin (nee: Peter Martin Gregor Heinrich Hellberg; 1933-2021, German, Israeli) Untitled - Abstract original color lithograph from a portfolio of 10 signed, dated, and numbered prints issued in 1964. This black, gray and red colored composition is set against a white background and contains collaged and inscribed elements. At the bottom, it reads, “Tumarkin ’64 51/100”. The 18.75 x 13-inch sheet has been mounted, matted, and placed in a black wood frame measuring 25.25 x 19.25 inches. Renowned Israeli artist Igael Tumarkin immigrated to Israel as a child. He traveled extensively and lived in the USA for several years before returning to Tel Aviv. He is internationally recognized for his public sculptures, paintings, and prints. His work combines aspects of Abstract Expressionism, Dada, and Pop art and he has produced over 300 prints. Tumarkin represented Israel at the Venice, São Paulo, and Tokyo biennials. The Tel Aviv Museum of Art staged a major retrospective in 1992.
